October 2018 SCCF and the Sarratt Parish Council together agreed to fund an emergency community alarm project.
A community alarm can also be known as a ‘personal alarm’, ‘ care alarm’, ’emergency alarm’ or ‘lifeline’.
Who can benefit from a community alarm?
Anyone can. Those who live alone, People returning from hospital, older people, those prone to falls, vulnerable adults and people with disabilities or restricted mobility.
The project continues to run and some twelve local residents are enjoying the peace of mind the panic alarm affords them. It also reassures family members, friends, carers and healthcare professionals to know that if there is an emergency, they can be contacted quickly by the Hertfordshire based control centre.
